A letter to Lianne and Matthew…

For the past seven years, I've had the privilege of being loved by this man standing beside me. From the very beginning, something about this felt different. As time went on, we didn't just fall in love. We grew up together.

I got to know my sister over the years a lot more, and we got a lot closer as the years went on. Lianne came out of this cocoon and became all of a sudden this butterfly, and I'm so happy that I had the chance to have that growth with you as sisters.

Seeing Lianne and Matt together, it's obvious that they're a perfect match. I met Lianne a little later on, but once I knew her, it all clicked. Genuine caring, someone that makes Matt even better. It didn't take long to realize this was serious.

When I look at them, what I see is not just a couple in love, but two people who genuinely enjoy being together, who support each other, challenge each other, and just laugh and have fun together. I can see that my sister has finally found her best friend and her forever love.

Over the last few years, they've been a part of the biggest moments of my life. From marriage to becoming a dad, you both become so much more than good friends. Your family.

A couple of years ago, we went on a family trip, and this was a trip with Matthew, again myself, my mom, and my father. And I got to see my dad interact with Matt as if he was our brother, as if he was his son. Family is so important. And so, on that vacation, that meant a lot.

Over the last few years, here are some of the things I learned about our groom, Matt: He loves to work out, he loves competition, and above everything else, something that he took a vow to protect for the rest of his life and love for the rest of his life: the Durango.

Dear friends, we have come together in the presence of God to witness the marriage of Matthew and Lianne and to rejoice with them. It's God's purpose that as husband and wife give themselves to each other in love, they shall grow together and be united in that love. This love is strong as death. It's a flame that cannot be quenched. Love is patient. Love is kind. Love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way. It’s not irritable. It keeps no record of wrongs. Love never ends.

I, Matthew, take you, Lianne, to be my wife. To have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for rich or for poor, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish the rest of our lives according to God's holy law.

I, Lianne, take you, Matthew, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish for the rest of our lives according to God's holy law. This is my solemn vow.

Matthew, I give you this ring as a symbol of my vow. With all that I am and all that I have.

Lianne, I give you this ring as a symbol of my vow. With all that I am and all that I have. I honour you in the name of God.

Matthew and Lianne have joined themselves to each other by solemn vows, signified by the joining of hands and the giving and receiving of rings. And I do declare that they are husband and wife. Matthew, you may kiss your bride.

Friends, it is my joy and my honour to introduce Mr. and Mrs. Matthew and Lianne Henriques.

These two are not just leaders. They're my definition of a warrior. Warriors who now get to step into life's uncertainties together with a little bit more confidence, knowing every step into the unknown is done with the strength and love for one another. No matter what life demands of you both, I know you can conquer it together. Now get ready. The doors are open. Your new life begins. Have a good jump, jumpers. The green light is on. Go. I love you both so much. Airborne. Airborne!!!

One of the things I admire most about Matt is his character. He is one of the hardest working people I know. When he commits to something, a goal, a project, responsibility, or a person, he gives it everything that he has. Matt shows up fully and consistently. He is loyal in a way that's rare. The kind of person you can always lean on without hesitation.

After today, when the music stops and everyone's gone home, life starts. Just always have each other's back. Always love each other. Always support each other. Be loyal to each other. And always put your trust in God ‘cause he'll never fail you. Love you guys. Congratulations.

I love my wife!!!!

Matt, you are my partner in crime, my rescue rider, my bestest friend. You've stood by me through every version of myself, and I'm endlessly grateful that I get to stand by you for the rest of our lives. I promise to keep choosing you, to grow with you, to laugh with you, to love you, and to be by your side just as you've been by mine for the past seven years.
